Re: [musicalfossils] Fear of Being Out There

Fear only goes away after numerous public failures. One just gets used to the
feeling. Try looking for lessons that provides group recital opportunities.
Community colleges (better bet) or private music academies targeting K-12, or
local music stores. If you can find lessons involving rock combos or jazz
combos at an entry level, that might work out even better.

the point where I can say I play piano, but I am afraid to actually do it for
anybody except myself. I need to get past this fear of actually performing in
front of people...I get so nervous, my fingers can't play the keys...does anyone
have any suggestions? Also, how do you find someplace to use your skills,
besides church?
Thanks.
