Subject: student wants to be a conductor
To: musicalfossils musicalfossils <musicalfossils-owner@yahoogroups.com>
one of my piano students, a 17 year-old girl, is interested in becoming a
conductor. she will finish high-school this month and is planning to apply
for the entrance exam in the spring of 2010, at México City's Conservatory.
she will have almost 10 months for preparation.
she is required to play the first movement of a concerto and the first
movement of a sonata.
we have chosen Bach's A Major concerto and Mozart's K570 sonata.
she is not a very advanced student, currently playing short preludes by Bach
and Clementi's sonatinas.
i will greatly appreciate ANY suggestions, comments, helpful tips you may
have; in relation to what she can do to be the best-prepared possible.
ANYTHING, from the simple and obvious to the most important.
she will take private classes of solfege, harmony, analisis, counterpoint.
she sings in a choir and takes violin lessons as well.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. lya
