WHAT'S GOING ON?
-----------------------------
Well, it's the Musical Justice equivalent of a slow news month.
Let's see, the Pernice Brothers and John Eddie came out this past
month. Next month promises Radiohead and Drive By Truckers. Artists
are setting up their summer tours. But all my usual sources are
pretty dry as far as anything that I'm excited to share with
everyone, so we're gonna keep this month's newsletter pretty
brief.
Next month, there will be stories to tell even if I have to make
`em
up myself. ;)
That said, one quick reminder that appeared last month too.
Midwesterners will want to check out Twangfest in St. Louis, Missouri
on June 4th-7th. Among the performers are Jason Ringenberg, Joy Lynn
White, Bobby Bare Jr., Tim Easton and Scott Miller & The
Commonwealth. For more details, go to http://www.twangfest.com/.
DOWNLOAD OF THE MONTH
---------------------
Last month, we offered up a rare Over The Rhine MP3 in the file
section on the Yahoo site. We've also added 4 other MP3 out
there
for Musical Justice users to download. For those of you who are anti-
downloading, all of them have come off artist websites, so they are
about as legal as you can get. The additional MP3's are:
Talkin' Al Kida Blues - Dan Bern (from www.danbern.com)
Crossing Muddy Waters (Live) by John Hiatt (from www.johnhiatt.com)
To Washington by John Mellencamp (from www.mellencamp.com)
Gotta Get A Message To You (yeah, the BeeGees song...live) by Jay
Bennett and Edward Burch (from www.bennett-burch.com)
These files will be up for the month of June, and then I'll be
looking to put new ones out there. If you know of any artists who
have posted rare tracks on their websites, send me an e-mail. The
web address for the files section is
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/musicaljustice/files/.
