we make music at the intersection of often dark, twisted pop songs and
experimental
soundscapes; sometimes the pendulum swings more one way or the other. we have
several well-received releases on various underground labels, and are working to
bring
things to the next level.
initially, we need a keyboardist ASAP for live shows in NYC and elsewhere (one
booked
already with further possibilities on the horizon). we have a monthly rehearsal
studio in
midtown. each member gets an equal split of any live money.
all candidates must:
* figure out parts by ear, chord/note names, a few written notes, mostly verbal
communication
* have good gear which you know your way around
* be reliable
* be easy to communicate and get along with
* be open to both sides of our music
* love what they're doing
* be available for rehearsals at least once a week, and commit to shows booked
anywhere
from 3 weeks to 3 months in advance
there is potential for more input depending on the person.
additional qualities that would make this more likely:
* ability/desire to create/tweak interesting sounds and samples
* a deep enough understanding of the music to contribute parts
* skills in studio engineering
* interactive live improvisation when necessary
