I came home and was blown away at what I had just saw. I mean the
CD's I have are pretty good but I have to say that's the best live
performance by a band I've ever seen. Bands get established and they
gain an attitude with all the fame, money - they basically get
complacent and have a clock watching session out there - a routine.
Long political speeches by Bono's U2 and their 1 1/2 hour
performance, others have 15 minute drum/guitar solos while others in
the band take breaks,$200+ tickets, over demands of audience
participation.
MMJ played like their next meal and finding a place to sleep relied
on that one show or 5 snipers had rifles pointed at them and told
them they'd start shooting the minute the music stopped for more than
10 seconds. At least 5 or 6 times I thought they were done and then
Jim James is being handed another guitar to play another song by the
roadie or the song roared on time and time again. I cannot see any
band out there matching their non-stop blistering pace on a live
stage, how? They obviously are driven to be as big as Metallica and
already have surpassed them when it comes to live performances. I'm
sure many people who saw them will be talking about the show in awe.
THIS IS THE BEST LIVE BAND, PERIOD, AND I'VE SEEN JUST ABOUT ALL OF
THEM.
