I got tickets this morning from ticketmaster in a
pre-sale. They go onsale to the general public,
including those not related to RCA record executives,
tomorrow at 10:00.

Give people a keyboard and they use it to send
statements such as the one below

"i dont pay for concert tickets anymore"

Think before you type...

In their only scheduled area appearance, *My Morning Jacket *plays *Radio
City Music Hall* on *Friday, June 20*!

Brewing soulful country and forlorn folk ballads with explosive rock 'n roll
anthems, *My Morning Jacket* transcends the boundaries of rock 'n roll -
traveling to a truly otherworldly realm, and proving that they will never
fit neatly into a box.

After four increasingly successful and critically acclaimed studio albums, *My
Morning Jacket* delivered *Okonokos: Double Live Album* in the fall of 2006,
letting the whole world in on what their fans and thousands of festival
attendees already knew: *My Morning Jacket's* live show is unrivaled. They
are among the few modern rock bands whose song craft holds up to heavy
improvisation, and have the chops to pull it off.

Don't miss *My Morning Jacket* at *Radio City Music Hall* on *Friday, June
20!*

As a member of MSG Insider, you have the opportunity to purchase a *very

            I sent
this over to the forum on the six year anniversary of my first-ever
MMJ experience  - this is what I gave to the band in the summer
of '02 after one of their shows here in Texas.  It's mainly about
following them around in March of 2002 during what I later dubbed the
'Pest Went East' tour.

         Brad put this
second link up a couple of months ago, but the first link should lead you
to the story that I wrote about my MMJ discovery (exactly six years ago
today in Austin, Texas), my subsequent fanaticism, my experiences while
following them around in March 2002 in the Southeastern U. S., and just
general thoughts about their Greatness!!   Sorry for the
misspellings, bad punctuation, etc!  I gave this to them after the
July 17, 2002 show (which I Missed because we got there too late, but we
saw them on the street and I gave them three copies of it) in Austin.
I hope that you enjoy it if you can get through it!

     From what I briefly read
over on the website's forum, they played most of Z, and maybe Golden and
'Way', I can't remember for sure, but that was the gist of it - I think
that they played maybe about an hour - that was the first
night.   I still haven't read about the second night and at that
other thing up in Telluride.   I was hoping for a 45 minute
version of Cobra, then Oxen, and then Weeks go by like Days for the second
night, but I doubt if that happened!

I sent this over to the forum on the MMJ website last week.
This is a bunch of stuff (mainly a travelogue/journal) regarding
our heroes and what I thought about their music, etc. This
is a fairly quiet place, but someone out there may want to look
at it. I am also 'inteviewed' by Hal 9000, the hard liquor
robot, regarding MMJ. Ridiculosity ensued. While you're
here, check out Brad and Tim of Trudgernaut, they have some
good songs and they even covered By My Car for the second
set of MMJ covers that the forum set up. Sorry for the spelling
errors, punctuation problems, etc! There's just no time to
proofread this mess! Here's the link:

New member to the list with a question.

Googled around for MMJ lyrics, and it's pathetic. All of the
ad-supported lyrics sites culled their lyrics from what is obviously
the same bogus, stab-in-the-dark source.

Is there a definitive fan site where the lyrics have been more
lovingly and accurately transcribed?

Hope all are well. Thanks in advance.

My Morning Jacket Plan Their Own Prom
by Staff | 02.22.2007

Whoever provided the music for your senior prom, whether it was a
fifteen year old DJ or Zack Attack, you're bound to be jealous of
anybody in Athens, GA on March 6th and 7th. Kentucky tunesmiths My
Morning Jacket will be hosting a two-night prom (complete with "Under
the Sea" theme) at the 40 Watt Club, and it promises to be a grand
affair. Look no further than the announcement below (originally posted
on the band's website) for details and countless incentives to hit the
town.

"For all of you who missed your prom back in 1956 or 1986 or 2006
for that matter, we will be hosting the 1st annual MMJ 2 night prom,
March 6th and 7th, at the fabulous, prom-ready, 40 Watt Club in
Athens! The first time we walked thru those hallowed 40 Watt doors we
said to ourselves, 'this place looks perfect for a prom!' And now the
dream will be a reality. The theme is a futuristic/retro under the sea
vibe - costumes (tuxes, suits, robots, mermaid and lobster costumes,
anything prom/ocean related) are not only encouraged - they are
MANDATORY!!! NO ONE will be admitted without proper attire!** There
will be cake, balloons, fishnets, classic cars, chaperones, spankings,
and a whole lotta shakin goin on - 2007 style upin this bitch ya'll.
Come prepared to dance the night away, and make up for all the proms
you missed..." - My Morning Jacket

Remember to get at least 10 people in your group or the limo will be
too darned expensive.

I didn't notice it, but I didn't watch any of the pre-game
stuff.   I'd guess that OBH is still MMJ's 'biggest'
song.   The kids seem to like it.   It was the third
MMJ song I ever heard and I remember that I figured that it was a cover
song until Ger and/or Riny or someone else here set me
straight!   Btw, on this date in MMJ history, they played in
Dallas, February 5, 2002.  I saw Jim after their show and spoke to
him briefly.  Later I met Tommy upstairs for the first time and I
think I said to him, "Are you Johnny?"!   Anyway, they
were always cool to speak with and 2002 was the year that I stalked them,
er, saw them the most!   I saw 'em 20 times in 2002, counting
solo Jim shows.

I think that on the Feb 5, 2002 show that they opened with At Dawn, but it
might've been The Dark.   I just remember that they only played
about 45 minutes, and Jim was speaking with an incoherent faux-British
accent to begin the show.   Cheryl, our photographer friend,
took some killer b&w shots that are still up over on the gallery on
the website, I think.  Long live MMJ, I guess I won't be able to see
'em this year.   A friend said that after these spring shows
that he's heard they're going to hibernate and write.  But surely
they'll do Bonnaroo, right?

Nuff sed,

I have a recording of them playing 'It Makes no Difference' by the Band, so
that might be it

What song do they play?
A friend told me about it yesterday; he didn't know which song MMJ played
but that The Allman Brothers Band was playing The Night They Drove Old
Dixie Down. The song that MMJ has played during this last year by
The Band is probably the one they're doing? I can't remember
the name of it, and I am not sure if I've even heard it live by
MMJ.
