!K7 participates in this year’s Montreux Festival with it’s own label night on July 15th ! The lineup is going to be one of the most exiting we have ever put up for a festival: Shantel , Ursula Rucker and Herbert are going to perform live before Kruder & Dorfmeister are going to take over the stage with their DJ & visuals show feat. MC Sugar B and Fritz Fitzke. !K7 a&r SST round things off.

!K7 Records & Spex Magazine & VIVA Electronic Beats present: !K7 floor presents "Independent Women (pt 1) feat. Ursula Rucker (live), Beth Hirsch (live) and Princess Superstar (live) while on the Spex floor there will be some serious "datapop" action with special !K7 guests. Further "independent Woman" showcases are in the planning for this years CMJ in New York and more clubs across the globe.

 

Shantel just completed his successful Great Delay Tour 2001, including oustanding performances at German festivals as Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. In the second half of this year you can find him touring with his live band all over Europe and Shantel is going to embark on his first proper dj- tour to the USA.

Well, there is so much to say about Herbert: not only did he rock the crowds on his European

club tour during June, but Icelands finest Bjork herself asked him to produce a track for her upcoming album which is going to be released sometime later this year!

Then there are numerous remix requests for Herbert, thus see your local record dealer for some outstanding remix action. Way to go Matthew !! Also check out Herberts latest single "Suddenly" (released July 9th ), including remixes by Mr. Ozio and Nabukazu Takemura. There comes a fine video with the single. Finally his early masterpiece "Around the house" will be re-released by !K7 Records later this year. Then you can enjoy the amazing Herbert live show in clubs around the globe.

DJ Kaos, member of Berlin based Terranova has hooked up with NYC’s Anti Pop Consortium to release the 12inch "Fear" on June25th. This single is already gettin massive response from dj's all over the world and it is no wonder that there is actually quite a few record companies after Kaos .... but anyway. It also features a superb remix by Patrick Pulsinger who is going to collaborate on another few 12" releases with Kaos. Watch out for the upcoming DJ Kicks, as Compost Records finest Truby Trio will take you into the world of club-jazz, brazil, latin and house. Their mix surely belongs to the best in the DJ-Kicks series and as an appetizer to this mix extraordinaire, !K7 is going to release the exclusive Truby Trio track "High Jazz" before.

There is a new sound emerging from Philadelphia. URSULA RUCKER’s debut album SUPA SISTA strikes an intricate balance between new jazz, hip-hop and Philly soul - all infused with poetic vision.

SUPA SISTA is a departure from Ursula's previous work as she pushes lyrical poetry to places it's never been by fusing multiple genres. 4 Hero (Talking Loud/Mercury), Alexkid (F-Communication), and Jonah Sharp (Spacetime Continuum) contribute to the soundscape of SUPA SISTA alongside Philly producers King Britt (SYLK130), Philip Charles (SYLK130/Retrofonix Labs), Tim Motzer (SYLK130, Jazzheads), and Ursula's frequent collaborator Robert Yancey III. The title track "Supa Sista" will be released as the first single with remix contributions by Ahmir (The Roots), Modaji & denmark's The Society. Catch Ursula rippin the stage as she appears at the !K7 Records party @ Montreux as well as the !K7 blast @ Popkomm this summer before she is going to promote the album with live shows across the globe. Beth has been in the lab lately completing her new album "Titles & Idols", to be released October 15th. The great piece has been produced by Black Dog, Jackson & Custom Blue. You can check out the new songs as Beth will be part at this year’s !K7 party @ Popkomm - great things to come !!

 

As a sequel to Funkstorung’s album "Additional Productions", !K7 releases "Vice Versa" later this summer. The record contains a wide range of remixes by the Rosenheim duo including works for Jean Michel Jarre, Philip Boa, Tocotronic or Plaid + two new exklusive tracks featuring Beans of Anti Pop Consortium and Sweden's Jay Jay Johanson (his new album has also been produced by Funkstorung).

 

The Manchester based duo rocks various European festivals with their unique live performance. Furthermore they will compile the next "Another Late Night" sessions due this fall. A third single and a complete remix album from the critical acclaimed "Sleepwalking" album is also in the pipeline. More news soon !!

In our last newsflash we introduced you to our recently relaunched website. Now we got even better: as a special service to all German speaking folks out there we sat down and translated the whole site into German ! Nice, arent we ?!

Rapster Records is proud to welcome a true Princess: Princess Superstar, whose album "Princess Superstar is" hits the stores on September 24th. There is a great variety of guest appearances such as Kool Keith, Bahamadia, High & Mighty, Mista Sinista besides others. Before the album, we will release the double A-side single "Keith and me" feat. Kool Keith and "Wet Wet Wet", produced by High&Mighty with a release set for August 20th. The reactions by the press has been overwhelming and you will have the opportunity to check out Miss Superstar at this year’s !K7 Popkomm showcase !

 

Rapster Records released Kutmasta’s latest single "Let me talk to you" on June 25th. The single includes remixes by High & Mighty and Germany's DJ DSL and DJ Dynamite. Check out the flash animated video ! Also, Kurt is presently busy producing the next Grand Agent single and is going to play some Masters of Illusion shows like June 6th at Kristiansand (Norway) - Quart Festival and on June 8th Brussels - Dour Festival.

 

Those funkified guys from San Francisco have just completed their extended tour throughout Europe with their amazing live sets ! For those of you who have missed it (shame on you), dont worry, because the boys will be back later this summer. Furthermore, the Breakestra double A-side single "Remember who you are/ Cramp your style" hits the streets June 18th. Check it out and get the funk !!
