I just found this site after having been a Nancy
fan for several years. It looks like a great place to
chat with others who love and appreciate Nancy's
special talents. What a golden talent she had! Such a
natural sounding voice with no artificial gimmicks to
sound appealing. When you listen to her sing,
especially in those glorious David Friedman compositions,
you can't get better in terms of connecting with a
song and your emotions. Judy Garland and Barbra
Streisand, who both had and have golden voices too, are in
the same league as Nancy. If she had lived, she would
have most likely achieved superstar status too. Before
her death, her work and name were becoming more well
known due to concert appearances, radio stations like
the wonderful WQEW, and tv shows.<br><br> I had the
great fortune to see her live at Carnegie Hall duing a
two day celebration of Frank Sinatra's music. I don't
remember the year, but I do remember the crowd adored her.
She sang "I Have Dreamed," in the best manner I have
ever heard: haunting, romantic, and yearning. You
never would have known she was in any way ill. What a
trouper!<br><br> Anyway, enough for now. So Nancy fans, please
write and we can keep the legend of the great Nancy
Lamott alive through our appreciation of her music.
