Great Choice!<br><br>The playing of IHD was a
nice moment in the movie The American President where
a romantic dance occurs at a State dinner. That
tempo like Nancy's was steady - prehaps not as
slow.<br><br>Checking the RR autobio, Musical Stages, I found the only
mention of the song to be that it was written out of town
(ie Boston). Not bad work for a rush job. Regarding
the show, RR notes that "The main rewriting was done
in Boston". The year was 1951.<br><br>Nancy's
recording is listed at the RNH
website:<br><a href=http://www.rnh.com/search/index.html

I note other versions I have -
including:<br>BRYN TERFEL, DEUTSCHE GRM<br><br>Bryn is always good,
but on my equipment, Nancy's version gets repeated
plays to listen for her breaths, dynamics and phrasing.
I am in awe of her musical vision. Having not heard
the other recordings on this list, I wonder exactly
how unique it is? Does anyone else come close to her
grasp on this song?<br><br>-Scott
