HELTER STUPID: Rev. Estus Pirkle, who died last year, was the preacher
of course who kept saying "Christianity is Stupid, Communism is Good".
Wonder where N-land got that clip from? It was from a cult movie
that would put Ed Wood to shame, from what I've read of it:
If Footmen Tire You, What Would Horses Do?
interesting...

THE PERFECT CUT: I haven't downloaded this yet, but the following site
apparently has the "Winning Score" radio jingle "selling" package that
N-land used. Listen on your comp. or download to mp3 player if you
have one:

Finally, on some Negativland shows you hear a KPFA newsreader named
Paula Nelson. Whatever happened to her? Lately, she's been one of
the people trying to get their money back from a certain bankrupt
radio network. (If it's the same Paula Nelson...) From the Sacramento
Bee: "Local broadcasting owner Paula Nelson just wants her money,
close to $1 million by her estimate. How much she'll get -- or whether
she'll be paid at all -- in the Air America Radio bankruptcy
reorganization case remains to be seen.
"Nelson is chief executive officer and president of Sacramento-based
Diamond Broadcasting, which owns radio station Talk City KSAC, 1240
AM. She was named Tuesday as part of a trio representing unsecured
creditors in bankruptcy proceedings involving the liberal-leaning
radio network. Air America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection
Oct. 13 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
"I hope we can get what's owed to us, so we can move forward," Nelson
said.
(AAR took their network to another station, then...)
"I put a tremendous amount of resources building up their profile in
Sacramento," Nelson said then. "I convinced them they could get a
following. Now, they snub their noses at us and go to another station."
(Paula Nelson can be heard on some Dick Vaughn stuff...like when she's
reading some news items and funny sound effects show up...)

Must be desperate, to want to marry a spam-monger. Especially one who
doesn't have the good sense to avoid Yahoo Groups with too many people
of above-average intelligence, and/or have been inactive for two years,
and/or both. Go bug some Nigerian heirs instead....

You know, I thought spammers were obnoxious assholes. Hey, once again
I was proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I was RIGHT!
Yeah I know, I never really thought this stuff would work either, but
honestly I stand totally corrected. This place
http://www.hookupbaronline.info/zpgr is actually very awesome. I hooked mycam up
and within no time at all I was talking to a few great ladies over it. Anyway, I
recommend it to everyone here!
Well I just got engaged! I can't believe it, just last year I was beginning to
think i would never meet anyone. I'm 25 already and I thought it was all over.
After some recommendations from a buddy I joined up here:
http://www.browsepictureshere.info/uzxm and after 2 weeks I was already meeting
up with a beauty. Well, 14 months later and where still together and planning
our marriage for later this year =)

Have since been, twice. Strange sense of deja vu on some of the
rides, especially the "Pirates of the Caribbean", thanks to my
previous listens to "A Piddle Diddle Disneyland".
Anyone else out there? I'm surprised this "group" is still open, as
Yahoo has been starting to shut down inactive ones (not enough hits on
their ads I gue

Slight update...I got as near as the front gate the other evening,
but this was after Dizzyland had closed for the day. The nearly-new
Downtown Disney area was open however, and my friend wanted to go for
some snack food at their pseudo-Cajun restaurant. The place is not
unlike other recent new malls in Orange County, with an outdoor faux-
downtown style. Free admission, and free parking (for 2 hours or
less), but expensive food and souvenirs. The bathroom in the
basement of the Disneyland Hotel was playing the Love Theme from the
Enchanted Tiki Room on the sound system...I'm told the Tiki Room is
still in operation, so I may just go to Disneyland soon after all.

Looks like a yes. This would be my first chance to check some of
my "groups" since December! Hope my time does not run out before my
reply typing does?
Anyhoo, I really enjoyed the Ride Thoery show, as well as the also-
mentioned "A Piddle Diddle Disneyland". On a clear night I can see
the Disneyland fireworks show from up here, but I have still not set
foot in the place...no time, and things I'd rather be doing with the
$42 or whatever it costs this year.

More info: I DID find an OTE show on negland's site, the one this CD
probably came from. What I got was an hour long tape dubbed from a CD
but here's the original show:
The Radio Journal Of Ride Theory I
(Nov. '00)
Dan Howland, Don, Ignatz Topo, Crosley Bendix
Two 90 cassettes. No N.R. $20.00
Ignatz Topo, editor of The Journal Of Ride Theory, joins Crosley
Bendix for a show all about amusement park rides and Mr. Ignatz's
insightful zine on the subject. After a disagreeable phone call from
Michael Eisner himself concerning the content of Ignatz's journal, we
mix a lot of material on all kinds of rides, especially the roller
coasters of America and the theme rides of Disneyland. Regular
features include the White Knuckle News Ride with topical reports
about the darker side of amusement, and Ride Quest in which phone
callers are quized about the world of rides in order to win a free
spin on our radio roller coaster. Nice stuff and a very packed and
focused production.
Is it possible nobody has posted on this group since January? Anyway,
a friend mailed me a dub of a CD that sounded like it was an OTE
show, featuring Don Joyce as Crosley Bendix and at least one guy who
does the zine "Journal of Ride Theory" and there was a lot of stuff
related to Disney on it...great found sound stuff! For some strange
reason I don't see it listed on negland's site (maybe it's available
only from Journal of Ride Theory?)
Some of the stuff on it: a guy making a tape for Ford and he keeps
screwing up; the real reason why they changed the name of EuroDisney;
Crosley "interviewing" Michael Eisner, old tours of Disneyland (OTE
did a great show about 10 yrs ago, "A Piddle Diddle Disneyland", which
was similar...
I think Jamcon 84 has C. Elliot doing a campaign

Hey Shrinkingman, does the C. Elliot Friday

The time is drawing near for the countdown to
begin. Countdown to 2002, the year of the palindrome.
The last palindrome year was 1991, but the next one
won't be rolling around until 2112, when the meek
inherit the earth. What does it all mean? Well, hopefully
it means another release from the boys in
Negativland. Their website says "DEATHSENTENCES OF THE

keeping MY fingers crossed, palindromatically, of course.
