At 12:30 pm on Sunday 19 July we are honoured to have the legendary alto sax player Geoff Simkins playing at the Sun Inn, Chobham with the house band (Simon Cook piano, Andy Masters bass, Mike Goff drums). Admission is free. Please phone 01276 857112 if you'd like to reserve a table for Sunday lunch.
Geoff Simkins has been playing professionally since 1977. He has played with such luminaries as Art Farmer, Bobby Shew, Al Cohn, Tal Farlow, Slide Hampton, Warren Vache, Al Grey, Kenny Davern, Bill Berry, Al Casey, Howard Alden, Ruby Braff, Bill Coleman and Conte Candoli. He is also a respected teacher and as well as running a very successful improvisation course at Sussex University, he is a regular tutor at the famous Glamorgan Summer School (which last year moved to Trinity College of Music). The next Sunday lunchtime performances are with the brilliant young PAUL JORDANOUS on trumpet (August 23), and the remarkable CARLOS LOPEZ-REAL on saxophones (September 20).

WEDNESDAY JAM SESSIONS
Our twelfth jam session at the Sun Inn, Chobham High St., (GU24 8AF, tel. 01276 857112) will take place on Wednesday 15 July. The first set will be played by the house rhythm section: Simon Cook (piano), Andy Masters (double bass) and Mike Goff (drums), starting at 7:30. Then from 8:30 - 10:30 there will be an open jam session. All levels are welcome. Entrance is free.
These sessions are planned for every 3rd Wednesday of the month: 19 August (with special guest Paul Southern on guitar), 16 September and 21 October (with special guest to be confirmed) will be the next ones. Please pass this on to anyone you think might be interested. Hope to see you there with your instrument.
