UPCOMING SHOW:

Yellow Crystal Star | Murmur | Ear is the Brain
Thursday, 26 Jul 2007. 10 pm sharp.
Circle Bar (New Orleans, LA)

The cannabis-drenched acoustic drone side project of potpie and friends will be performing an ultra-rare live performance, their first in over 2 years. Murmur has had several super limited cd-rs released over the last 7 years and only a handful of live appearances. They will be opening for an amazing guitarist from Tallahassee called Yellow Crystal Star who will appeal to fans of Acid Mothers Temple guitarist Kawabata Mokoto' solo work or much of the Kranky label. Also playing will be Ear is the Brain who is Nepalese and plays minimal acoustic psychedelia.

This is a not to be missed show for afficionados of strange but
beautiful music, please come out and support experimental music in New Orleans. (free)

OTHER GOSSIP:

Chef Menteur has been taking the months since their last show April to record and mix their next album. As usual, it's a self-engineered, self-produced affair, but this time they've got some new tricks up their sleeves. It's starting to take shape and with any luck, it should be out by mid-autumn.

Backporch Revolution also plans to have several other new releases coming out this fall. Keep watching this space and the web site for more.

If you haven't heard, New Orleans is now the murder capital of the USA, the Army Corps of Engineers is still accountable to no one, and GWB is still AWOL. On the positive side, some of that federal and state money that was promised to the city almost two years ago might start trickling in soon....
