Support: Eric Page
Is the only welsh queer comic working the circuit at the moment.
Eric runs his own comedy club ( the freakshow comedy club) running
three years best lesbo and gay stand up. He began comedy three years
ago after nursing ( oncology) for ten years, semi-finals of BBC 2000,
Finals of 'so you think you're funny '( Edinburgh 2001), Komedia New
act of the year 2000, gigging all round country ( and in Spain and
canaries), have done a few TV shows, Take the Mike ( ITV 2001),
Stand-up Britain ( 2002), UK Today (2001), and writes for various
radio shows, theatre shows ( including NewsReveue), and also writes
various columns. Eric has his own impro comedy troupe called The
Dykwits which is receiving very good revues across the south east.
WHAT ERIC SAYS:
My comedy is about me, what it is to be queer and a bloke, originally
from the welsh valleys and now living in the sun-drenched Gomorrah of
Brighton I turn my self inside out exploring sexuality and sex, giving
away male secrets and gay secrets willy-nilly. I like to challenge my
audience in a reassuring way and am shockingly comforting, I have no
regrets, which is a shame. I'm blunt and savage but always charming,
knifing stero-types and leaving them ashes. Talking about my communist
upbringing and then coming
out as a queen. As un-PC as it can get, but always on the side of
right. A proper po-mo-ho-mo ( Post modern fag). As happy discussing
harpsichords concerto's or nipple clamps, an all round family
entertainer. Also working for the local council and the THT as a
sexual health outreach worker, where I spend my time chatting to
hookers and queers about syphilis and various other nasty things.
Compere: Stuart Lloyd
There will also be a "New Act" section featuring four up and coming
comedians from the Swansea area
