A discussion list for people around the world (but especially the bay area) to discuss and connect about independent music that tends to be too harsh or rocking for the general 'indie' crowd, but too rock for the art crowd. Also a web resource devoted to using the world wide interweb for networking between bands, radio stations, zine people, etc from around the world for tour support, etc. This is NOT a place to send blind mailers about your band, label, pyramid scheme, newsletters or spam, unless it is somehow related to the focus of the list. Spammers are quickly executed here... if they pass the screening process at all. Dig? Now if you want to interact in the community, that's a different story. This IS a home for those interested in underground music and helping strengthen that underground, using the ideals and tactics of bands like minutemen and fugazi and labels like Touch and Go, Dischord, Merge, Neurot, Kill Rock Stars, etc. to network and circumvent the mainstream system whenever possible.
