as hinted at in last week's email, we have a special treat in that
burd early came by last week to record a live set specifically for
nlfn. it appears in the second hour of this week's show... burd early
has released two albums for the western vinyl label (who have put out
some great 7"s by groups like bonnie prince billy, songs: ohia,
appendix out, and knife in the water, amongst others) as well as an
ep for the king crab label (run by one of the fellows from the dirty
three)... so you know burd early is some good stuff...

this is the first live set to be recorded this year at my new
residence in chapel hill and i plan to have a heck of a lot more
people swing by... (another secret for you- i already have a set by
someone else taped for next week's show)
