The Nordic Shostakovich Society aim to expand the knowledge and reputation of russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich in particular and of Russian 20'th century music and culture in general.

This mailing list has two purposes;
1, to act as an information distribution forum (about the Society and its activeties)
2, be a discussion forum about Shostakovich and russian culture in the Nordic countries.
(Entries may be in any of the Nordic languages; Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Finish and English)

Membership of the society and this list is open to all with an interest in Shostakovich, Russian culture and the advamncement of these in the Nordic countries, an area including: Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Norway, The Baltic states and the general St. Petersburg area.
