The best I've found is either braided stunt kite line OR high quality
braided white Dacron fishing line. Both are hard to find but available if
you look.
Avoid plain twisted variety line (like contractor's line) it always wants
to come apart as your work with it.
When you find your line....'cut' it with a hot knife or thin piece of
metal...the singed edges are easy to thread through beads and stops fraying.
