WHERE GOD LEFT HIS SHOES benefit for the homeless - 6pm
1031 N Garden St
Bellingham WA 98226
Price: by donation

The Interfaith Coalition and Clear Blue Sky Productions present a memorable evening of thought-provoking entertainment to benefit the homeless in Whatcom County. 6pm - music with Cabin Fever NW. 7pm screening the movie "Where God Left His Shoes", with an introduction by the film producer Michael Caldwell. Community discussion to follow the film. PG-13, may not be appropriate for small children.

Cabin Fever NW is the Bellingham-based duo Dianne Bochsler and Tara Wolfe, performing true Americana roots music. Their straight-from-the-heart presentation of songs captures the spirit of traditional folk music. You will not hear better harmony singing anywhere.

Great music, great lyrics, great storytelling. Their compositions reflect real life, including joy, loss, love, leaving home, great cars and the complexities of crime and punishment. Their original work "Give Me That Kiss" received first place in Gary Allen's Music City Beat Nashville Songwriting Competition, and other originals have earned recognition by international media, including NPR's Car Talk which broadcast "Yellow Mustang", and SING OUT! Magazine which featured "Mary Alice".

January 23, 2010: Bill Evans and Megan Lynch...!!! Banjo and fiddle, now that's
a great combination for bluegrass music.. Bill has been here in town before but
Megan hasn't and they are really looking forward to playing here. Megan is not
only an excellent fiddler, but she's is a great singer too.. Bill has tons of
banjo technique, tricks and great stories.
Together, Bill Evans & Megan Lynch make music that's going to surprise you. It's
much more than a fiddle and banjo duo. While virtuosic instrumental work is to
be expected from these musicians, it's the outstanding lead singing of Megan and
the pair's rich duo vocal sound that is a revelation. Drawing on
singer-songwriter and alternative rock sources as much as traditional old-time
and bluegrass music, the duo creates music that's intensely intimate but truly
difficult to categorize. While rooted in bluegrass tradition, Bill Evans and
Megan Lynch display a natural and unassuming sophistication that reflects their
wide-ranging interest in many kinds of contemporary and popular music.
... Saturday night January 23, 2010.. door open at 6:30, show-time 7:00 PM, $ 12

Notes:   Having only been together since Feb. 2009 , Spokane's 'Heartbreak Pass' has come a long way in a very short time. With an impressive list of 2009 perfomance's on the east side of the state, they will be springing into the 2010 season at Wintergrass,Blue Waters in Medical Lake and the Newport Music Festival to name a few. This band of singer/songwriters already has songs reserved by National recording artists Rhonda Vincent and Darrin Beechley formerly with the Doyle Lawson Band. Creative covers or the rich soulful creations of this local band will surely make for an enjoyable listening experience.

With backgrounds in classical and church music, Nancy and Rob are equally athome playing Bach or "Whiskey Before Breakfast." Their offerings includefolk songs, traditional Americana, "vintage" tunes such as "Five Foot Two",hymns, classical favorites, seasonal music, songs of the Civil War,patriotic standards, and popular fare. Subject: Great TAB database I found
geetardave
Offline Offline

Hi everyone,

I found another great tab database as I was surfing the net and thought i'd
share. You may have seen this one. Not only do you get free tab, it has a midi
version that you can listen to and it follows along the sheet music highlighting
the notes as played. It has both standard music notation and tablature for many
instruments depending on the song. There are hundreds of tabs here in all
different genres. There is a good bluegrass/old time section as well.
Instructions are below.

Go to:

http://freetabs.org/listtabs.htm

Click the flashing button labeled "TEFView Free!" In the top middle of the page.

You need to install this viewer program first to view the tabs and print them.

After you've installed the program go back to this page:

http://freetabs.org/listtabs.htm

You can either download the files to your computer and "unzip" them or you can
just view them online by clicking on them after you've installed the program.
At the top there are categories of TAB. (A lot of tabs are under the personal
collections buttons too). The Bluegrass tabs are under the Folklore button.
Don't limit yourself. Check out the classical, flamenco, and lots of other
styles to expand your playing with. Although I focused on the guitar tab
portion, most of the tabs have other instrument tabs to view. Inside the TEFView
program you'll see an instrument name listed at the top right. Next to that are
numbers (ex. 1,2,3) Click those numbers to change to that song's tab for a
different instrument. Click print or just view it online and play along with the
tab as it moves. The player is at the top left in the program. If you get stuck
click the "?" pulldown menu at the top left of the page. This is a great program
that will view this type of file. A good way to learn is by hearing and seeing
then doing. This all seems like a lot of work but no one said learning is easy.

Good pickin'
David

Good! That's the important thing, to catch it before damage is done to the
heart muscle. That gives you the best shot at many more years of kicking
around.

BREWGRASS at The Rockfish Grill Anacortes, Washington

Nov 14 2009 7:00P
Egan’s Ballard Jam House Seattle/Ballard, Washington

The Wiretappers came into being over the course of several late night, alcohol-assisted jam sessions around bluegrass festival campfires in the northwest part of Washington State, when longtime friends David and Scott met up with longtime friends Mark and Jake and began mixing the magical musical mysteries of swing, jazz, bluegrass, country and funky folk. We found much common ground and a convivial interest and energy for 3 part harmonies, experimental exploration and extending our musical terrain to new friends and audiences in the Pacific Northwest. The Wiretappers are available for community events, house concerts, festivals, parties, wedding receptions and almost any other venue where good time, toe-tapping music is welcome. Contact us directly at wiretappers@... for details.

Band Members Jake Weber - guitar, vocals; Scott Spadafora - guitar, vocals; David Smith - mandolin/fiddle, vocals; Mark Snyder - upright bass, vocals.

Dear Friend of Irish Music:

They said it couldn't be done! That it shouldn't be done!
Despite these naysayers, your favourite Irish band will soon make a
rare appearance. Paul Mooney and Laura Ploudre have very kindly agreed
to host Crumac for a concert at their lovely home in Ballard.

With Dale flying in from Japan, and Mike sallying forth from Gig
Harbor, Tom will stroll down the hill to join them for a grand night
of Irish music. Please join us!

6717 25th Ave NW
Seattle 98117
Saturday, Nov 21st.
8.00 PM. Cost $15.

Crumac will handle the booking for the concert directly. Space is, of
course, limited so, please let us know if you'd like to attend.
Please contact Tom for reservations, or to (preferrably) pre-pay, at
the following:.

Telephone: 206-784-8268 or tomcreegan@...

Cheers.

I am not sure. Alan called me about a month ago and was hoping that him and
Alan could stop by and pick a few on their way to Seattle. I had some
things come up however and wasn't able to be here when they passed through.

Not to worry, they will be back again. Adam wants to do a gig at the Hope
Grange here in Winlock.

Howdy,

Does anyone know if Adam Granger and Alan Munde will be playing in Seattle?
Or, have they already played and I missed them?

I know they're going to do some workshops at Dusty Strings on Saturday.

Thanks.

Jim
