Re: [NWPanic] Thinking about moving to Eugene

hey dude, ive lived in eugene 10 years, and it has changed a lot. not for the
good.the economy blows here, but there still is pockets of goodness, just lots o
yuppies. the "friendly" neighborhood is super nice, but the "whittaker" hood is
the funnest place to live here. if you wanna contact me call me at 5413440686.
my name is shane. cheers!!

This place has been waaay to quiet lately, so look for a few show
offers in the next few days from me. But my question/comment today is
for you cats that live in the eugene area.
I live in olympia wa right now and have a great job at a local
independsnt record store but i freakin hate it here...lol..I dont
have one single friend to hang out and listen to music
with/cookout/chill/go see a show in town etc..Whatever...it just
sucks!.:).Im almost 40, ive got no time for this kind of bullshit any
longer i tell ya!
I need more going on around me, more music, more sun, more friends
into good music. Ive been to eugene probably 8-10 times over the
years seeing Dead shows or stopping in for a few days while on the
road but never lived there or looked at rental prices or jobs etc.
Ive got 2 daughters, 12 and 9, that of course would be in school.
So im not able to just kind of wing it like i was able to in the good
ol dsys. God i used to just decide where i wanted to go and just GO!
and figure out the logistics when i got there. But times have changed
and i need to check things out a bit first.
SO, any places i should totally avoid when looking for a house to
rent?
Any small town just outside of town that might have something? Im
just looking for some ideas. Does eugene suck? lol
Any decent jobs?
Please forgive me for asking so many questions but you know what i
mean, im just trying to get a feel for what my next move should be.
thanks! and look for a show or 3 or 4 to be offered starting later
today!
JonP
