Zulal, the
Armenian A Cappella Folk Trio of growing acclaim, has spent the previous
several years traveling to communities and venues throughout the US and Canada.
Performances in Toronto, Houston and Los
Angeles, amongst others, have moved audiences
with an amalgam of talent, tradition and rejuvenating energy. Starting-off
their summer performances this year will be a long-awaited performance in New York
City to benefit the Invisible City Theater
Company and Alwan for the Arts.
Zulal's
singers, Teni Apelian, Yeraz Markarian and Anaïs Tekerian have been singing
together since 2002. The trio has performed in such esteemed venues as Carnegie
Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts, the Museum of the City of New York, the Alex Theatre, and the
Longy School of Music along with performances for Cirque du Soleil, The Near
East Foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia.
The show will take place
at Alwan for the Arts, a world music venue at 16 Beaver Street, 4th floor (between Broad and
