The John Link Project has a new website: http://www.myspace.com/johnlinkproject There you will find pictures, news, and FREE music to hear over the internet or to download. Currently there are two songs available, my own "Into the Ground" and Chopin's "Prelude No. 6". If you've been to a performance of "Anatomy of a Doll" by Terri Muuss you might recognize the guitar part of "Into the Ground" as the music I play to accompany Terri's monologue at the graveside. "Into the Ground" is also heard on the dance and music video "Selinunte" by Lori Belilove and Company and the John Link Project.

Check it out: http://www.myspace.com/johnlinkproject

Mentally Sober still needs a few more dedicated singers! We are auditioning for all voices but *especially* alto, tenor and baritone. Auditioners should be 21-35 with flexible and fun personalities. (Kinda like ours! ^_^)

Vocal percussion, writing, and arranging skills are helpful and welcome, but not necessary. We are currently focusing on classic rock, but we're open to most music as long as there's an arranger who will take it on (we have two), and as long as it hasn't been done countless times before.

We have two-hour rehearsals once a week and while we have a great time, we're serious about music. Be willing to commit! We have ambition and want to take this project as far as we can go.

Auditions start Tuesday, July 19 in Manhattan. Responders will receive an information form, and will get details and directions upon returning it.

We can't wait to hear from you!

"borrow" an audience for shooting one scene (because I can't afford
tons of extras). Does anyone have a performance the week of Aug 1 - 5

Hi everyone!

This past Tuesday, Tuesday Night Swipes featured all the medalists, choruses and quartets, from the just-completed Barbershop Harmony Society contests. The mystery cut was by Saturday Evening Post.

This week's show will have a new feature cut and a new mystery cut, where a listener can win a CD by calling in with the identity of the singers.

Tuesday Night Swipes is on 7:00pm-11:00pm New Jersey time.

To listen to Tuesday Night Swipes, a proud program of The Harmony Network, go to www.harmonize.com/thn and follow the directions to the live broadcast and the chat room, if you are so inclined.

To call in, simply use our toll free (anywhere in the continental United States) number, 1-877-THN-SONG.

ATTENTION ALL MAKE AND FEMALE GROUPS ACCESSIBLE TO UPPER MONTCLAIR, NEW JERSEY

THN...The Harmony Network operates the network from studios in Upper Montclair New Jersey.
We are part of the local business community through our landlord...Regional Broadcasting Services.

This weekend, July 15th, 16th AND 17th (I know it's a late notice), The local businesses around the studios are celebrating "CHRISTMAS IN JULY" with sales and special promotions. We are in need of groups to entertain the crowds on Friday afternoon (Noon - 5PM), Saturday all day (10AM - 5PM) and Sunday afternoon (Noon - 4PM). This is a great opportunity for your group or quartet to practice and perform their Holiday Music early. Along with any Christmas or Holiday music you may know, your regular repertoire can also be used. And you will have the opportunity to sell CD's or promote your group to the audiences.

The activities take place within a 2-block area, so there's not a lot of walking to get to all the stores. There will be a place right in front of the studios where a table will be set up if anyone wants to sell CD's or have information or flyers available.

We do not have any money to give you, but everyone who participates will receive an invitation to do a live spot on one of the radio shows now broadcasting on the Harmony Network Monday through Friday. Our audiences are world wide and you can get incredible exposure on the radio. We usually allow 1 hour for a guest artist so you have a great opportunity to perform and promote over the airwaves.

Please contact me here at RMTMUSIC@... if you can perform any time during the weekend. We are trying to get as many groups as possible so that we make an impression on the businesses with our music. My cell number is 973-592-7351 and I would be happy to talk with you if you can help out.

The Harmony Network has celebrated it's 1 Year Anniversary and is now providing a cappella and barbershop harmony every night of the week. Won't you consider helping us out? Call me or write to me as soon as you can. I will give you the particulars and schedule your group.

Calling all a cappella fans! The indie film Shut Up &
Sing is shooting in NYC on Thursday August 4th and
needs your help. We need an audience for our
"flashback" sequences and it would be great if we
could pack the house with true a cappella fans and
singers. Any and all singers/groups are encouraged to
come and join in as we will have an all-star a
cappella jam session to keep the crowd amused during
filming. Right now we're scheduled for 6 - 9pm at the
Ethical Culture auditorium (a beautiful venue for
singing) in Manhattan at 63rd and Central Park West.

Everyone will be on camera and the scene takes place
in 1991 so if you have any classic wardrobe, bring it
on (avoid logos though). We will also have a question
and answer session with the actors who right now
include: Molly Shannon of Sat. Night Live; Mark
Feurstein of The West Wing and Good Morning Miami;
2005 Tony nominee for Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf,
David Harbour; a cappella vocal percussion fave Samrat
Chacrabarti, and many more. Groups and singers will be
announced shortly.

Come sing along! Thanks in advance,
Bruce Leddy
Writer/Director
[due to the volume responses and the demands of the
shooting schedule, I will not be able to answer all
emails]

When you say classic '91 wardrobe, are you talking pre-Nirvana or
port-Nirvana? Around September, hairstyles suddenly went from hairsprayed
up to au natural, metalheads became borderline hippies, and oversized
flannel suddenly replaced oversized sweatshirts. Since it's a movie about a
college group, are we talking end of spring '91 (pre-grunge) or fall '91
(post-grunge)?

I'm psyched for the movie, btw!

Mentally Sober (a brand-new Manhattan-based
contemporary a cappella group) needs awesome tenors to
complete its lineup! We've got two in-house arrangers
and music just waiting for the addition of our final
voices to be completed. We're almost ready to start
the serious leading-to-performing rehearsing... but we
need tenors to do it!

Auditioners should be 21-35 with flexible and fun
personalities. (Kinda like ours! ^_^) Vocal
percussion, writing, and arranging skills are helpful
and welcome, but not necessary. We are currently
focusing on classic rock, but we're open to most music
as long as there's an arranger who will take it on and
it hasn't been done countless times before.

We have two-hour rehearsals once a week and while
we have a great time, we're serious about music. Be
willing to commit! We have ambition and want to take
this project as far as we can go.

Auditions
start Thursday, July 28 on the Upper East Side in
Manhattan. Responders will receive an information

returning it.

We can't wait to hear from
you!

The indie film Shut Up & Sing is shooting its
flashback college a cappella scenes this Thursday
night, August 4th from 6p - 9p at the Ethical Culture
auditorium, 2 W. 64th Street at Central Park West. We
need as many a cappella fans as possible to fill the
seats and make this a great film moment. The scene is
set in an Ivy League type college in 1991 so if you
feel like dressing the part, by all means, knock
yourself out. But everyone will be on cameraregardless
of wardrobe. In addition to being part of the film,
the audience will be treated to live performances
including Sean Altman of Rockapella, and NY a cappella
group The Invisible Men. If your group wants to do a
couple numbers to help entertain the crowd, drop me an
email or just find me at the event. There will also be
a Q&A with the cast and me, the writer/director. Come
out and support a cappella's big break into the movie
business!
Thanks for your support!

We are a 12 member mixed-voice jazz/pop ensemble based in NYC. We
rehearse Monday from 7:15 to 9:15 in Manhattan (West Side or
Village). Our professional director, jazz pianist Gary Haberman,
writes most of our arrangements, but we round out our repertoire with
selections by The Real Group, Gene Puerling and others. Some of our
pieces are a cappella, and others are enhanced by a small rhythm
section. We are currently looking to fill an alto and a tenor
opening. Candidates must be comfortable singing alone on a part and
be able to learn music quickly, through a combination of good
musicianship and practice outside of rehearsal. If you are
interested, please contact Gary Haberman at (201)452-0955 or
maestro984@.... To find out more about us, visit our website
at www.uncommonchord.org. [Note to those of you who have already
auditioned--the decision to extend auditions has been made because
group members' vacation schedules have made it impossible for all of
us to get together to hear candidates, and not because any negative
decision has been made as yet! Thanks very much for trying out, and
you'll be hearing from us in a few weeks.]
