Dev 79 has been doing a similar experimental breaks
night in Philly. He also has been doing live electronics
and just released a nice 7" featuring his own downtempo
break style. Duran Duran Duran also came out of Philly's
vibrant free party scene rockin' pure cdr mayhem from
his mashed-up gritty breakcore productions. London's
Irritant Records has released a couple tracks and together
with Broklyn (and Irritant) pal Donna Summer have been
bangin' the house parties from Bushwick to The Badlands.
Last and not least is Optic, whose live shows still
bring a nice hardware element to an increasingly in-the-box
laptop world. Expect noise, distortion, breaks and
a pinch of melody, not unlike the Isolate and Dyslexic
Responses imprints he runs. Broklyn DJ sets before,
between and after!
