encouraged kleverVice to DJ several years ago (she played her
first set with Cruz at some SoHo gallery filled *entirely* with
balloons). Then they hosted a weekly together for a year+ at
[]penair, and another at The Sardine Can. Before he met kV he
ran a weekly with DJ Firehorse, and this mind you, was before all
bars had turntables. They had to walk ten miles with their decks
and speakers on their backs, just to play psychedellic dub for the
masses. Cruz has a long history in the NYC underground scene
of loft parties (before the cabaret was enforced) and nifty clubs.
He also has a deep collection - dub, dnb, and dancehall, jazz
and techno, latin covers of american classics, funk, house, soul,
industrial, punk, ambient, kraut, etc... This will be a great night!"
