XXXXX SATURDAY, AUGUST 14 XXXXX
The Madagascar Institute presents:
Cake
We're sorry we forgot. See, we've been busy. We were
recovering. We were making big plans. We were in Europe. But
trust us, we were thinking of you.
We're sorry we missed your birthday.
We'd like to make it up to you. Please join us for an all-new
street event celebrating your big day. It's a surprise party -- for
you.
Do not be late. Wear orange if your birthday falls between
January and June, blue for July to December. Bring a few
birthday party favors if you like. In return, we promise shock,
surprise, and spectacle. Maybe a bad magician or a donkey.
And something just for you.
This is not a rain or shine event. Please check our website in
case of inclement weather.
Northwest corner of Washington Square Park
Waverly and McDougal, Manhattan
3pm sharp! 20 minutes. Do not be late or you will miss it; $free

NOTE: Yes, the above listing is vague. It's even more mysterious,
more secretive than most Madagascar events. But our inside
sources have uncovered a few details: This is Madagascar's
first proper street event in nine months. We also found out that
it's not a performance, per se. And we hear we know there are a
few dozen people behind it, and that it has been in the works for
some time. One more thing: In the past, Madagascar has
mounted a musical on the steps of the Public Library (before
everyone was doing it), run bulls through Brooklyn, and staged a
condiment war under the Manhattan Bridge. When they're at their
best, everyone gets to participate -- cast, crew, and passersby.
This is one of those events. This could be the single best thing
you do on a Saturday afternoon this summer. But we wouldn't
want to overhype it or anything. See you there.
