eclectic ecstatic party sounds
Marc Houle's first solo release was an amazing double 12"
on M_nus that dropped in November and immediately turned
heads at the Bunker and throughout the minimal techno
community. Marc's Run Stop Restore collective, which
includes Magda and Troy Pierce, also released a stunning
12" on M_nus last year. His unique brand of jacking
minimalism is influenced as much by Kraftwerk and 80's
synthpop as it is by Dan Bell and classic Chicago acid
house. Houle's constantly evolving live set stole the show
when he opened for Magda at the Canal Room last year, and
we expect more of the same tonight.

Clark Warner is an old friend of the Bunker. He used to
play at our Undercity parties at Halcyon on Sunday
afternoons after many Saturday night opening / sideroom
gigs with Richie Hawtin in larger venues. Clark has played
at DEMF, Sonar, Mutek, and many other prestigous electronic
music events. When he's not busy with DJing and other
creative projects, he runs Richie Hawtin's M_nus and Plus8
labels. He is one of the best and most interesting chillout
DJs we've heard, and we're psyched to have him start us off
properly tonight.

Perhaps you've heard that most agressive and misanthropic
form of speed metal with its Gatling gun tempo and growling
indistiguishable vocals. And perhaps you've heard of this
malevolent genre of metal refered to as "cookie monster
vocals". And perhaps this reference evoked for a split
second the image of that happy-go-lucky muppet gone bad and
fronting a deafening and dangerous metal band. Well that
image has become an obsession for the malcontent creators
of San Francisco cookie-centric metal act Cookie Mongoloid.
Cookie Mongoloid is Sesame Speed Metal. See the Cookie
Mongoloid in all his blue, furry, googly-eyed glory backed
by the baddest of gender mixed metal bands as they decimate
and regurgitate your childhood favorites in an abrasive
metal wrath. See their harem of gothic gyrators, the
Cookies, demonstrate such elemental concepts as up and down
in a blaze of lights, smoke and pyrotechnic cookie
shrapnel.

Haunted Pussy are bloody ghosts that rock slutty
psychedelic dark scary screeching shrieking metal and have
agreed at the very last minute to play with Cookie
Mongoloid at the Bunker Midnight show. Mr. Brooke Shields,
The Ghost Drummer, Bilge Byron, and Bilge Baron will
probably sound something like Diamanda Galas stabbing a
Chihuahua to death in Food Bazaar with racks of guitar amps
replacing the frozen food section and without the
fluorescent lights. They don't usually play clubs,
preferring to play dirty parties in basements and lofts,
and... cemeteries. So this is a rare chance to see them in
full rockstar glory. "These local men und women turn
spoken-word ghost stories into Diamanda Galas/Meredith Monk
orgasmoans over weird-assed pscho-Frippetronic
guitar-noodling noise for outer-space archery contests.
Their hilarious press release suggests the music's
silliness is on purpose." -Village Voice
