eclectic ecstatic party sounds
The sound and background of Gaiser delves from an upbringing deep
in percussion. Starting out as a drummer in his teen years, he
played with bands behind a kit. What interested him even more
though was experimenting with drum machines and he learned a
balance between digital and real world instruments. Living in and
around Michigan (Detroit for a few years) Gaiser frequented the
music and underground parties from Detroit. Like most artists on
the M_nus label (and let's face it, most of the US techno scene),
Gaiser cites heavy influences from the Plus 8 and Minus events
during the 1990s. His "And Answer" EP on M_nus has probably been
the most played record of the year at the Bunker.

Plexus is one of our favorite minimal techno DJs, and has been an
integral part on the NYC minimal scene for a very long time. He's
played at some of the better loft parties we've been to, usually
with M_nus labelmates like Magda, Troy Pierce, and Richie Hawtin
(remember when they all lived in Brooklyn?). He broke his collar
bone while snowboarding this winter, and has been in Indiana for
multiple surgeries over the past few months. We're glad to have
him back behind the decks in NYC.

8p-1a (early show for all of you working stiffs)
Deadbeat is one Scott Monteith, an adopted Montrealer who has
been releasing his own special blend of dub laden, minimal
electronics since 2000, for labels such as Cynosure,
Intr_version, Revolver , and Scape. His work has been met with
consistant critical acclaim from the industry's leading
publications and websites, and drawn performance invitations for
some of the world's most respected festivals, including
Barcelona's Sonar, Berlin's Transmediale, and Montreal's own
Mutek. From 1999 to late 2003, Scott worked, assuming various
roles, for the Montreal based company Applied Acoustics Systems,
makers of the Tassman Software Synthesizer. Having now moved on
to pursue his own musical efforts full time, the experience has
left him with a passion for the development of new creative
interfaces, and a strong grasp of some the most cutting edge
technology in the industry. Whether crafting quirky,
not-quite-dancefloor techno, or rumbling digital dub, Scott
continually strives to create music that honours the past beyond
empty tribute or cultural appropriation, by infusing the digital
tools of the present with a little of the magic known as human
imperfection. Hindered only by the occasional buffer underrun or
synapse misfiring, Scott continues to search for his own unique
voice between the ones and zeros.

The Agriculture founder DJ Olive is one of our heroes, someone
who we give our deepest respect to. Perhaps most well know for
his work with WE™, Olive is just as comfortable improvising on
stage with people like Luc Ferrari and John Zorn as he is rocking
all night dance parties with sweat dripping from the ceiling.
His work has been presented at the Whitney Biennial, the Venice
Biennale, the Brooklyn Anchorage, the Kitchen, and a million
rooftops, parties, clubs, and chillout rooms. He has been
touring the world for years, making brief stops in Brookyln from
time to time, so we were lucky to snag him for this gig. His
live sets consist of deep dubby breaks and backyard jeep beats.
Olive recently released "Heaps As", his 2nd solo album for The
Agriculture. Tonight, he is playing a very special 2 hour set
aimed at the dancefloor starting on the early side, so don't show
up too late.

$mall ˘hange is an insane record collector, DJ, and funky mofo
about town who uses his encyclopedic knowledge of mindblowing
music to pick out the best records (the dude has more records than
anyone we know, and we know alot of people with deep
crates). $mall ˘hange is always very eclectic and he never plays
anything but incredible records. Tonight, he's focusing on deep
bassy dub in it's many forms, but you never know what's coming
next when this guy is behind the decks. His show at WFMU has
been on hiatus for awhile, but check the archives for endless
entertainment:
