techno, house, electro, eclectic ecstatic party sounds

Ezekiel Honig is a drum'n'bass DJ turned melodic micro techno producer.
His sound is subdued and beautiful, filled with "mistakes" and sneaky
little melodies. His debut album on his own Microcosm imprint turned
alot of heads and was very well received by critics and music fans
alike. His new album, Scattered Practices, is even better, and shows how
much his sound has developed over the past two years. Zeke also runs the
Microcosm label, which has been responsible for a ton of great music
over the past few years.

Back in November 2005, we celebrated the released of Ben Parris's debut
record (Foundsound 5), and he treated us to a storming DJ set that had
the whole place bouncing. Then he came back with Barem in April for
another great party. Ben has been one of the biggest supporters of
minimal techno on the east coast for a long time. He organized the
Once.Twice Sound festival in Baltimore, bringing in everyone from Akufen
to Dimbiman. After spending a year or so down in North Carolina working
on a fish farm, trying to figure out the meaning of life or something,
Ben produced some amazing tracks that get alot of play at the Bunker and
on dancefloors around the world. He spent the summer partying in Berlin
and touring around Europe, and now he's in Baltimore continuing work on
his PhD. He released a very well received split 10" with NIcholas Sauser
on Microcosm earlier this year.

Nicholas Sauser aka Sean Smith is one half of the duo Socks and Sandals,
who have rocked the Bunker dancefloor many times. Working in a similar
vein to that project, but definitely exploring newer and more
experimental territory, Nicholas makes weird and fluctuating minimal
techno. With one foot planted firmly in the history of house music, the
other is planted gently in a pulsating future filled with skimmering
sonic oddities. Sauser has been working on tracks and tweaking his sound
all year, the highlight of which was a performance at DEMF in May.
Nicholas is the owner and operator of the Kompakt distributed Goosehound
label, which has made a big splash with the first three releases (we've
already heard everyone from Luciano to Dan Bell rocking this shit).
Goosehound 4 (Sauser & Ditch with an amazing Barem remix) will be out in
November.

Morgan Packard's search for the perfect music for a benevolent future
has led him to study jazz saxophone at Boston's New England
Conservatory, to move to London to immerse himself in British drum and
bass, to study classical composition, and to learn to program his own
software tools. More scholar than fusioneer, he strives to understand
the inner workings of the music he studies, using this deep
understanding to more effectively create something new, rather than
simply appropriating the glittering exotic sounds floating on the
surface of the music he hears. Across all the music he explores, the
qualities of beauty, melody, texture, and hypnotic repetition fascinate
him, and these qualities unite his work across disparate styles. He has
appeared at the Bunker a couple times as a duo with Ezekiel Honig, and
tonight is his first solo Bunker set.
