-theAgriculture is a new record label run by Jameson and DJ Olive.
The label has recently re-released classic material from Lloop
("Bulbbs")and Sub Dub ("Original Masters 1993-95"). Upcoming releases
include a downtempo mix cd from DJ Olive, a 12" from Raz Mesinai, and
full length albumns from qpe and Once11.
-New Clueless Sound System aka Daniel Smith is currently working on
a surround sound DVD for future release on theAgriculture. his
performance at Synth will be presented in surround sound. he is
interested in disjointed music ... bringing together lots of strange
elements and sounds that baffle and delight audiences.
-Lloop (of WE) will be treating us to a live laptop set. Expect fried
dancehall, warped dub, drum'n'bass, hip-hop, and other interesting
sounds.
-qpe aka Kacy Wiggins will be releasing a full length album on
theAgriculture sometime in 2002. his live laptop sets feature
experimental neck-snapping dubbed out hip-hop/downtempo beats.
-Toshio Kajiwara is an incredible experimental dj. he has worked with
DJ Olive, Christian Marclay, Raz Mesinai and many others. his
technical skills on the turntables are on par with those of top
hip-hop battle djs ... and he constantly displays jaw-dropping
creativity behind the decks. he hosts the weekly Phonomena party at
SubTonic on Thursdays with DJ Olive (they're also starting a record
label to release records for performing vinyl scores).
