[december 24, 2003] hello to everyone. i'm sitting here at my desk,
early on xmas eve morning. i got up early to get projekt business
answered, so i could head into the studio after lunch. if you have
any questions you'd like me to answer here on the list, please send
them to distribution@... -- or just drop a line to say
hello... it's always nice to hear from you. here's a quick run-down
on what's been going on with black tape for a blue girl.
<< new release for february or march >>
i have been making progress in the studio! i am focusing on four or
five songs i expect to release as a limited edition maxi-cd in a few
months. my thought is to give you an insight into work in progress,
rather than create a full-blown conceptual release. the songs feature
the whole band and they may / may not appear on the next full-length
album . . . and may / may not appear in this exact form. (ie: some
instrumentals might later have vocals or some songs will end up
having additional instrumentation)... yes, i know that's vague. i'm
still working! i have to start writing the lyrics, which i expect
will come to me in the next couple of weeks.

the new issue includes a fashion article with a full page interview
with lisa of black tape for a blue girl. unfortunately, they didn't
use the nice layout idea i made for them, but you can see it at this

<< dead can dance tribute cd >>
i hear the disc will be out in february on the the greek metal label
black lotus records. i did a cover of the song "fortune presents
gifts not according to the book." athan sings lead vocals and we came
up with some beautiful harmonies in the studio. more about this song
as the release date gets here...
<< my book >>
i have about 80 pages written now, it's coming along!
<< with a million-tear stained memories >>
projekt.com is sold out on this limited edition highlights 2-cd.
however there are still some copies available in retail stores.
<< new full length >>
the timeline i gave last update is completely wrong; at one time, i
thought the next full-length would be out in the spring, but at the
rate i'm going i think the summer is more realistic. and yes, we
expect to do select shows to support the album. it's been a long time
since we got out here in the u.s., so it could be kinda of fun. we
also have a new label in germany that we are planing to release the
cd with.
happy and peaceful new years to everyone...
