great news for fans in the u.s.!

black tape for a blue girl will be playing our first midwest show in
five years at convergence 10 in chicago. we play on saturday may 8 at

convergence is a netgoth festival that features music, day events, a
merchants bazaar and more. because of the way they set it up, tickets
cannot be purchased at the door. you have to purchase in advance
on-line. a slightly frustrating arrangement, but definitely worth the
trouble to see us play!

as i said, we haven't played in the midwest in years, so this will be
your first chance to catch the new live incarnation of the band. bret
on vocals and guitar, elysabeth on vocals and viola, michael on
percussion, lisa on flute and myself (sam) on electronics... the band
is definitely more powerful and dramatic these days (the last time we
played the metro, we were a three-piece of elysabeth, lisa and
myself).

what's even more exciting is that you get to be some of the first
people to hear new material! i have been working on the new album for
the past couple of months, and it is really coming along! we will
perform four of our new songs, including the track that will be
released as a cd single just in time for convergence (sorry about not
providing the names of the album / single yet.... it's still being
decided). in fact, the full length will be completely recorded and
mixed by may 8, and it will be in stores august 31 -- but convergence
attendees will get a premiere of our new material....
