Phoebus Days 2009 ...Originally called Mill Creek after the
body of water next to the little waterfront settlement, the town of Phoebus has
survived through both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. In 1952, the town of
Phoebus and Elizabeth City County consolidated with the City of Hampton. Today,
Phoebus still retains much of the small town charm it began with over 200 years
ago and areas are considered historical sites. It's thriving art and antique
scene remains unparalleled by any other town of its size and magnitude.
Attractions such as The American Theatre and Fort Monroe remain a huge draw for
the area. Partially bordered by the Hampton Roads harbor and Chesapeake Bay,
Hampton, with the 344,000 sq.ft. Hampton Roads Convention Center is located in
the center of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. Hampton is the site of
America's first continuous English-speaking settlement and is home to such
visitor attractions as the Virginia Air & Space Center and Riverside IMAX ®
Theater, the Cousteau Society, Hampton History Museum, harbor tours and cruises,
Hampton University Museum, Fort Monroe, award-winning Hampton Coliseum, The
American Theatre, among others. Hampton was twice-named All-America City, the
nation's oldest and most prominent community recognition award.

Phoebus Days 2009, the 42nd year, is combined city of Hampton and Fort Monroe
event. We hope "The Jam" will become an important part of the Virginia Music
Showcase. The event blocks off streets outside Fort Monroe and also has a
showcase stage for those who really would like to show their talent.
First come first serve. The event has parades, re-enactments, artists,
vendors, dance groups, and more. Check us out! Hope you will not forget us and
consider being at the 2009 event! There will be promotional tables for each
group, as requested, and staff to assist. We also have a super sound system and
will provide what you need.... Phoebus Days 2009 is ON! We are already gearing
