Dear all,
If anyone is wondering what OLPS Orchestra is doing - right now, we are still meeting up on Mondays (the string quartet) and we're learning songs as we go along. It's been quite slow, but we have a few members with us who are currently still learning violin as well as playing with us, so we are slow in learning new repertoire. But it's been enjoyable all the same!
Recent updates are that we are venturing to play for MASS and TAIZE. If you don't know what is Taize, just search on Google. It's a form of prayer originated from Taize in France. People will pray and sing quiet, repetitive songs - it's very musical. It's perfect for the violin and instruments like cello, flute, clarinet, recorder...
So our next few events are:
15th August - Tuesday (around 8pm) - Join Ave Maria Choir for Assumption of Mary Mass.
18th August - Taize prayer session to commemorate the passing of Brother Roger (one of the founding Taize brothers)
NOTE: The practice date is yet to be decided.
26th August (Sat 5pm) - Play for Sat Evening 6:30pm mass together with Ave Maria Choir. Anyone is welcome - play spontaneously. It's ok if you don't know how. We'll figure out something for you to play.
Samantha
