Tickets are on sale already through the website (www.gatecrash.com.sg), but you guys can also approach me or anybody else playing in the orchestra for tickets. Buying tickets through orchestra players enjoy 20% discount =) Details of concert and ticketing are as follows:

Date: 5th (Thursday) and 6th (Friday) October 2006
Venue: VCH
Time: 8pm for both days
Performers from: NFO and NTUSO (collaboration)
Performing: John Williams' Film Music (including Superman, Star Wars Trilogy, E.T., Harry Potter etc..)
Ticket category: $50, $30, $25, $20(limited) - all prices have not included $1 admin fee yet

So for example, $30-category ticket will be $25 after 20% discount, and $25-category ticket will be $21 after 20% discount.

So do support the NTUSO! I can help you get discounts if you are interested, as I'll be buying through the orchestra members.

I may even be playing at this concert if they allow me to go back (I'm already alumni now u see..) So see you there!

The New Festival Orchestra (NFO) made its debut accompanying renowned American pianist Tedd Joselson in his 30^th Anniversary concert in Rachmaninoff's 2^nd & 3^rd Piano Concertos under the direction of Adrian Tan. The orchestra comprises of amateur and professional musicians brought together by a common love of music – and a desire to bring a greater variety of orchestral music to Singapore beyond the traditional classical repertoire.

Adventures on Earth is the first of many concerts of movie soundtracks, Broadway and West End musical revues, concert operas and popular songs that aim to be a breath of fresh air in the concert hall, changing the perception that symphony orchestras are a legacy of the past with concerts that the entire family, from the young to the young at heart, will enjoy.

Joining forces with the NFO in this special event are the musicians from the NTU String Orchestra led by conductor Xu Zhonghao. The concert will feature solo violinist Gerard Chia, a prize winner of the 1993 National Music Competition (Violin, open category) and graduate of the Eastman School of Music in a performance of the music from the Oscar winning film Schindler's List and jazz saxophonist Fabian Lim performing the solo in the soundtrack from the blockbuster Catch me if you can starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo di Caprio.  The orchestra will also perform a concert suite from George Lucas' Star Wars Trilogy, the classic movie score that is destined for a place in music history.

All this, plus familiar tunes from unforgettable films like Indiana Jones, Superman, E.T. and Harry Potter , Adventures on Earth promises to be a concert not to be missed!
