Philippe:
We don't usually print non-staff editorial comment since TBR is a 52 page
magazine and usually overflowing with current material. But, since we thought
your photos
would best be served in our annual special issue, "Sunday Girl,"
which is very photo-oriented and less news or essay oriented, that certainly
would be a consideration. I'd be happy to review whatever you had to write --
the material that would accompany your photos. If necessary, I could send you
the draft, after editing and page composition, for your approval.
I've seen your work, while editing Allan Metz's book, and like your Blondie
portfolio very much.
TBR has been a forum for photographers to have their material shown/seen by
our readers. Such regular contributors are Roberta Bayley, Bob Gruen
, Sylvie Ball, Joe Ryan, Tina Paul, and many other NYC photographers. Our
payback for them is the advertising of who took the photo, the venue and date,
and their Web site. Additionally, we usually have a sidebar or subhead with nice
comments about their work, where it can be seen, the fact that they are
serious Blondie fans, maybe something about other projects they have done, etc,
etc. It's just a reminder to the readers that these people are still out there
taking photos and that they have a Web site to view them and, in most cases,
that some of their material is for sale.
Distribution varies from issue to issue. The "Sunday Girl" issue will be
about 250-400 copies, the web sites (4 of them) that promote the magazine, get
about 1,500-2,500 or more hits a month. TBR is occasionally advertised in 14
various DH & B Yahoo and MSN groups and we are supported by our own Yahoo group.
You can get more details at our new site, below.
Thanks for considering,
Bob Betts
