Travels


Dr Carol Williams has just returned from Europe where she performed a
concert at Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris. While in Europe, she
interviewed Olivier Latry; Daniel Roth; Sophie-Veronique Cauchefer
Choplin and composer Karl Jenkins for the TourBus series. A sample can

Dr Williams has been the Civic Organist of San Diego since 2001 and
performs numerous concerts here in the USA and abroad. Future concerts

ORGANpromotion announces the representation of the winner of the
II. Jordan International Organ Competition 2008/2009
================================================================

Founded in 2001, the Jordan International Organ Competition is one of the
premier competitions in the world, offering the largest First Place prize (US $
30,000) and significant additional prizes. Competitors around the globe compete
via CD and live selections rounds in Philadelphia, Seoul and Leipzig, being
judged by a panel of international concert organists and teachers. The
competition culminates in the Semi-Final and Final rounds, held in the visual
and aural splendor of Legacy Hall of RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in
Columbus, USA. This entire event is made possible through the continuing
generosity of the Jordan family and the Jordan foundation.


August 1, 2008: Deadline for CD entries
February 9-14, 2009: Live Selection Round at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian
Church in Philadelphia, USA
February 16-21, 2009: Live Selection Round at Torch Center is Seoul, South Korea
February 23-28, 2009: Live Selection Round at the University of
Music and Theatre in Leipzig, Germany
September 17-26, 2009: Semi-Final and Final Rounds at Columbus
State University in Columbus, Ohio, USA

Prizes for the Jordan International Competition:

First Place: “The Jordan Prize” $30,000
Including artist management by Karen McFarlane Artists
for the U.S. and Canada and by ORGANpromotion for Europe

Second Place: $10,000
Third Place: $5,000
The LeTourneau Prize: $5,000
for the best performance of a newly commissioned work for organ and percussion
