Greetings!

* New featured event: Música de Órgano en Santiago de Compostela --
description of the festival in Spain. The document, in Spanish,
describes the festival, the organs and the performers in detail.

* Big improvement: I finally got myself two pairs of Organmaster shoes
and I absolutely love them. Up until now I was playing in Capezio
dance shoes with a 1.75 inch heel which was quite narrow (as I now
realize). Those were fine for Bach but not so fine for opening two
swell pedals at a time in Reger and playing quick runs in Distler. My
teacher has been encouraging me to get Organmasters for a while, and I
should have heeded his advice long ago. Now I feel like I can do
everything. With the heel lower than I am used to, but just high
enough, feet are moving in a horizontal plane more so than vertically,
as they should. The delivery is prompt, and you can order the shoes
online.

Dan Long's BachOrgan.com site has a funny section "Organ shoes hall of
fame", which contains photos and poetry dedicated to well-worn
footwear.

"Who would have thought that a recital of French organ music could
draw more than 1,000 people to a midtown church on the night of a
presidential debate?"

* When the Organist Is Episcopalian
An interesting article on the role and acceptance of non-Jewish
organists in synagogues

* Movie-house organist
