** Discography: Updated and Expanded **
While "All-Inclusive Dixie Chicks" doesn't focus primarily on the latest
news from Nashville, the recent release of the single "Ready To Run" has
spurred me to update the Discography page. I've finally had a chance to
update the information for all the singles from "Wide Open Spaces" and add
more information about both the "Runaway Bride" soundtrack and the upcoming
fifth Dixie Chicks album, "Fly".
In fact, I added so much information about the recent releases that I've
broken the Discography into two sections: The Indie Releases (including
Danger in the Air and Domestic Science Club), and The Hits (And Misses).
This should allow site visitors to find the information they're looking for
more quickly, especially when following links from the updated Timeline pages.

** Another Audio Treat! **
Thanks to Nici, owner of the top "New Chicks" site, I have a 50-second .mp3
sound sample of the Dixie Chicks' newest radio release, "Ready To Run"!
This song should appeal to fans who liked the way you could hear the fiddle
and banjo in the Chicks' pre-Sony days -- a whole generation of country
fans has grown up without hearing banjo like this on the radio.
I made the .mp3 file from a .wav file I got from Nici, who got it from
Whitney, who recorded it off the radio. Ain't the Internet great?

** Hollerin' Yahoo! **
It only took four months, five tries, and an impassioned plea to tech
support, but "All-Inclusive" has finally returned to the Dixie Chicks
category in Yahoo! When the site moved to dixiechicks.com in January 1999,
someone at Yahoo! noticed it and changed my listing... but when
dixiechicks.com got transferred to the Chicks' management (and died),
Yahoo! dropped the listing entirely.
Now, the Chicks are finally putting something together at their namesake
domain... and that may have been the spark Yahoo! needed to add my site
back to their index. It's great news -- without a Yahoo! listing, it can
be hard to find a site like mine amidst the clutter of "New Chicks" sites
and spam sites with misleading keywords.

** Charlie Who? **
I've added a new page to the site, and for the first time I have to say
that it's not for everyone. There are those in the world -- including
several on Nici's Chicks discussion list -- who take things way too
seriously. This new page is *not* for them.
Texas singer/songwriter Charlie Robison married Emily Erwin this past May
in a private service on a ranch in West Texas. The fan discussion list was
so happy for the new couple, and we even put together a scrapbook for them.
But does the largely teenage crowd on the list know who Charlie is?
In the spirit of taking things completely out of context, I've put together
a little page that won't go over well with some of the more idealistic "New
Chicks" fans. You see, Charlie Robison writes songs about the grittier
side of the Texas experience. In most of the tracks on his Sony debut
"Life Of The Party," somebody dies violently... and other non-PC issues
come out in others. Is there anything wrong with these lyrics? Not in my
opinion... but anyone who expected Emily's husband to be another Tim McGraw
might be a bit shaken up.
Learn a little bit about Emily's black sheep husband -- but for cryin' out
loud, don't take it so seriously!
