** An "Old Chicks" News Flash from The All-Inclusive Dixie Chicks Page! **

As previously reported -- and still under discussion on Nici's email list
-- tonight is the night that Dan Rather is supposed to blow the lid off of
the international Dixie Chicks conspiracy! Not really, but Rather (a
long-time fan) did interview the Chicks and they're *scheduled* to be
featured on tonight's (10/10/2000) edition of "60 Minutes II".

I say "scheduled", because current events have a tendency to pop up at the
most inopportune times. This edition of 60 Minutes II, the season premiere
of the news series, was scheduled for last week but was pre-empted by the
presidential debates. This week, the show goes on... but will the Chicks
be included?

According to the CBS web site, Dan Rather will be talking Firestone Tires,
not the tires on the Dixie Chicks tour bus. He'll be interviewing a
grieving mother who signed a non-disclosure agreement after her son's
death. The site says nothing about the Chicks -- I'm guessing that their
interview will have to be postponed until a later date.

If the Dixie Chicks segment is rescheduled, I'll be sure to send a note to
this announcement list. You won't want to miss it -- because the rumor is
that the present-day Dixie Chicks aren't the only ones Dan Rather tracked down.
