In this issue: Long time no see, and an opportunity to educate the Chicks'
new teen fans.

** The days go by... **

It's been months since I've made a meaningful update to the All-Inclusive
Dixie Chicks Page, and I'm very sorry for the delays. There have been
several interesting happenings of interest to "Old Chicks" fans -- from
pictures of their first West End appearance to a newly discovered issue of
the Chick Chat newsletter. Not to mention all the additions I need to make
to the Complete Discography!

I appreciate your patience as my "real job" and my work on KHYI.com have
taken me away from the Dixie Chicks site. Hopefully, I'll be able to take
advantage of the Chicks' concert hiatus to catch up on the latest Old
Chicks and New Chicks developments.

** Cosmogirl Magazine wants your Old Chicks Pix! **

I got an interesting request from the Photo Researcher at Cosmogirl
Magazine (www.cosmogirl.com). She's looking for pictures of the Dixie
Chicks from when they were first starting out. I've passed it on to Nici's
Dixie Chicks discussion list (see www.dixiechicksfans.com), where most of
the teenage members are probably familiar with the magazine. I'm hoping,
though, that some of the members of this list may be in a better position
to help Ms. Deakins.

This may be an excellent opportunity to educate the Chicks core fan base --
teen girls who read magazines like Cosmogirl -- on the group's fascinating
history. I've always maintained that it's the sort of story I want my
daughters to emulate -- that with hard work and personal sacrifice, you can
reach your dreams.

On a more mischievous level, I'd love to see the Chicks in full cowgirl
regalia spread across the pages of a major teen magazine! (Yes, I know the
group was already pulling away from that image before Natalie even joined
-- just look at the pictures from after "Shouldn't A Told You That" was
released.)

I still love the cowgirl frills, but I can still take solace in the fact
that the core of the group -- inspired instrumentals and meaningful lyrics
-- is still there in songs like "Cowboy Take Me Away" and "Sin Wagon".

Dear Robert Brooks,

My name is Cat Deakins, and I'm the Photo Researcher at Cosmogirl
Magazine. For our upcoming June/July music issue, we're doing a story on
"Breaking into the Music Business". I'm looking for pictures of famous
musicians from when they were just starting out.

I got your e-mail address from a website of Dixie Chicks fan stories, and I
am writing to ask your help with my research. Do you have any photos of the
Dixie Chicks performing in their early days? or, do you know someone I
could get in touch with who might have publicity or performance photos?

If so, we are very interested in taking a look at them! We will pay the
FedEx shipping cost to send them to our office in NY. And if we decide to
run them, we will pay a usage fee. All photos will be returned promptly.

Please contact me if you think you can help us out.

Thanks SO much!

Sincerely,
Cat Deakins
