In the past week, the California legislature has been debating changes in
the laws that bind artists to their labels, and have taken testimony from
musicians like Courtney Love and LeAnn Rimes. All three Dixie Chicks were
also in attendance, according to reports, though their lawyer did the
actual talking to the legislators. As Rob notes, the Chicks are busy with
the "business" side of the "music business" these days.

More updates as they develop! Meanwhile, don't forget that Robin Macy and
her new band Big Twang will be at the Winfield festival this month
(www.wvfest.com), and will make their triumphant debut/return to Dallas at
Poor David's Pub (www.poordavidspub.com) on September 29.
