** An Original Chicks News Flash
** from The All-Inclusive Dixie Chicks Page!

This just in from Nici's DixieChicks discussion list
(www.dixiechicksfans.com) . I haven't had a chance to get verification,
and searches of the LA Times web site and Yahoo! News both come up blank on
any recent news about the Chicks' contract disputes.
But if this note is correct, the Chicks are moving from Sony/Monument to
Capitol Records' Nashville division. Capitol's artist stable currently
includes the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Keith Urban (who has had Chick backup
on his albums), and some guy named Garth. Maybe the Chicks can let this
Garth guy open for them this fall. I hear he needs a break.

>
>This is from the LA Times article which also states that Adrian and
>Natalie are working out how they will go back and forth between areas.
>
>"MEANWHILE: Pasdar describes the album the Dixie Chicks have just finished
>-- with a switch of labels to Capitol -- as "far and away the best thing
>they've done. I've always said country singers sing like there's a bullet
>in their hearts, while my wife sings like she has a gun in her hand. But
>that isn't true in this case. The album has a lot of ballads about love.
>It's blue-grassy, but very poignant and powerful. It's not as 'pop-y';
>it's the next evolution for the band. ... It doesn't sound like they're
>trying to impress anyone, just make beautiful music."
