It's been a busy week for the Dixie Chicks and their fans -- something of a
post-war capper to the pre-war controversy. So if you were thinking things
would die down... think again!
** Chicks reveal all on nationwide TV **
Nationwide tonight (4/24/03), at 9pm Central time (10pm Eastern,
who-knows-when elsewhere), ABC's Diane Sawyer will be conducting an
exclusive interview with the Chicks for the network's "Primetime Thursday"
program. According to The (Nashville) Tenneseean, the interview was
conducted at Emily and Charlie Robison's Austin home, and will cover the
controversy from the original "15 words" in London, to Bush and the war, to
the fan reaction, to the group's future. If you're afraid you'll miss
tonight's "Primetime", check out The Tenneseean's article, which includes
selected Q-and-A from the show.

Meanwhile, back here in Dallas, ABC affiliate WFAA-8 will follow up with an
interview with the area's top country DJ, Terry Dorsey from ABC-owned KSCS
(96.3 FM). In fact, they already have some video on the site that may be
from a previous interview with Dorsey.

** Chicks reveal even more on newstands! **
And speaking of print media... if you haven't heard yet, the Dixie Chicks
are baring all -- quite literally! The cover of the upcoming issue of
Entertainment Weekly features all three Chicks in the buff, figleafed only
by strategically placed hands, knees, and elbows. The online magazine's
content is only available to AOL subscribers (the magazine is owned by AOL
Time Warner), but many online news outlets have picked up the cover in all
it's skin-toned glory. The shot makes your typical Cosmo cover look like
the cover of Woman's Day.

** And don't forget... **
Some points to remember, please:
* I (Robert Brooks) am in no way affiliated with the Dixie Chicks or their
management. Please do not send me messages telling me that you're
boycotting my music. I sing in the shower, not on the radio.
* If you want to unsubscribe from these very occasional newsletters, please
follow the instructions below. If you write me a flaming email threatening
to kill my dog if I don't remove you, I'll cheerfully ignore it just to
watch you squirm.
* I've resolved some email problems, so I can once again enjoy your flames
(and compliments), as long as you remember the points above. However, from
this point forward, all ridiculous comments sent to this address are
subject to being posted on the web site. But I won't include your email
address, no matter how silly you sound.
