Hi, Cliff
I think you might have the Auld Sod and the Blarney Stone confused. The
Auld Sod has only one seisiun and it's an advanced, up-tempo seisiun on
Tuesday nights that starts around 7 and runs until whenever. The tempos
there actually tend to be on the fast side, and we play a much wider
variety of tunes than are in the Blarney Stone tunebook.
The Blarney Stone in Kearney Mesa has an open seisiun Tuesday evenings,
and that's where I'd recommend you start out. Everyone sits at tables
so it's possible to use sheet music and tunes are played at various
tempos depending on who is there. Hopefully someone else can let you
know what time the Blarney Stone seisiun starts.
I'd also strongly recommend the House of Ireland music class on Sunday
mornings from 10:30 to 12:00 until you've gotten more comfortable on
whistle.
