The tradition of Norwegian male choral singing continues this summer with the
100th Sangerfest of the PCNSA. The first Sangerfest was held in Everett, WA in
1903 and celebrated the musical heritage of Norwegian, Scandinavian, and
American male chorus singing which was at it's height in the early 1900's.
The Norsemen mens' chorus of Sonja Lodge will host this year's Sangerfest which
will be highlighted by a Grand Concert which is open to the public.
The twelve member choruses of the PCNSA will be in attendance as well as a guest
chorus: The Hauka Mannskor from Soknedal, Norway. 130 or so singers are
expected.
Tickets for the Grand Concert are $20/each. The Grand Concert will be held June
26th, 2009 at 7:30 in the Hilton Convention Center in Eugene, OR. For ticket
