A straight-ahead session from before he left for the US, also featuring
another soon-to-be emigrant, bassist, George Mraz.

For ECM fans, Mraz is a link to ECM through John Abercrombie's late-'70s
quaret with Richie Beirach and Peter Donald, not to mention Hammer played on
John Abercrombie's classic Timeless.

I thought folks might enjoy reading a review of Hammer (on acoustic piano
and organ) before he became a fusion hero (not that there's anything wrong
with that!) with Mahavishnu Orchestra.
