When I tune into our local classical station, I usually pick up
something written for a chamber ensemble (ie. J. S. Bach, Schubert,
etc;).
When one refers to a gas chamber, one either thinks of the
execution device OR if you are like me, in the Army, you then think
of the shack with tear gas that all basic trainees must experience. I
wonder if PDQ Bach ever wrote anything for a Gas Chamber Ensemble
(perhaps if a rich employer tended to eat too many beans)?
I am interested to hear any Musicalogical views on this topic.
