Like a dream of fishnets and greasepaint plucked from the collective
subconscious of Berlin, CABARET BABYLON smolders in the dark between eras;
beckoning the sophisticated gallery-hoppers of Oldtown and The Pearl to continue
their First Thursdays long after sunset.

Your distinguished hosts Werner Fincke and Sadie LaGuerre have assembled a
slinky sabbat of voluptuous vaudevillians to tease even the most jaded fancies.
Dance, music, and astonishing displays of skills unmentionable will scandalize
the pristine stage of The Fez Ballroom while the creme de la creatives luxuriate
in its Ottoman opulence.Absinthe and Champagne is the cocktail of choice.

Fuchsia FoXXX has fused a variety of traditions and
experiences creating her own unique hybrid of exotic dance. Pulling
inspiration from ancient dance to contemporary musical influences, a
background and degree in the visual arts, Roller Derby training in John
Waters stomping ground, and almost 10 Years of Belly Dance performing
and teaching, Fuchsia brings passion, decadence and crisp execution to
stages across the globe!

THE SHANGHAI PEARL

The Shanghai Pearl is a burlesque artist and teacher
with Miss Indigo Blue's Academy of Burlesque. This tempestuous temple
of temptation infuses traditional bump and grind with her signature
Shanghai sweetness. She's a veritable princess of pulchritude with a
range that is broad; spanning the burlesque gamut from tantalizing
tongue-in-cheek tease to absurd and irreverent vaudevillian vignettes.
Her raunchy moxie and bravado are not to be missed! Catch her on a
stage near you and allow her to Shanghai your heart!

SHOEHORN

A one-of-a-kind one-man-band, Shoehorn keeps time to his own raucous
saxophone melodies through the twinkle-toed tradition of tap dancing.
Or if you prefer, Mr. Horn can assemble a full cabaret ensemble to
provide a circus score never heard before, propelled by his own two
feet.

NAGASITA

This temptress of tribal steam made her name as one third of gothic bellydance
troupe Serpentine, and joins us this evening midway to her next big project -
Bogville Creature Features. What she has planned is anyone's guess, but it's
certain to be sensuous and bizarre.

Our resident accordioniste and mermaid chanteuse has prepared a special solo set
to be performed upon her signature squeezebox, her antique toy piano, her
homemade "gammonshackles", and her Boss Loopstation.

Owner and Sole Proprietress of Burly Girl Productions, founder and star of the
Indulgence review at The Hawthorne Theater, Sahara Dunes graces Babylon once
again with her divine luxury.

GRENDEL

She contacted us at the final flickering of 2008 to announce that she was"the
last contact juggler left in Portland". This turns out not to be true, since
the immortal Mr. Lance Coombes has emerged from his semi-retirement hungry for
the blood of the younger generation; but we are nevertheless eager to watch her
roll and weave small shiny objects all around her lithe and graceful limbs.
With a Reed College pedigree and that first-year Burning Man glow behind her, we
welcome young Grendel to the New Year, and to the Cabaret.

From the creative minds behind Batty's Hippodrome, The Gun Street Girls, and
Societas Insomnia; a one-of-a-kind show guaranteed to arouse, amaze, and
entertain.
