Thanks for the Medicine Head link. The 1970 session is a recording of
appalling quality and arguably the better for it. Recorded via a
microphone close to a radio - you can hear someone cracking walnuts (or
similar) at one point. I am constantly amazed how these early sessions
are just a few years before punk and yet they seem a lifetime away
compared to the evolutions in music in the 30 years since punk.
'One and One is One' is another track to add to the (growing) list of
John's favourite records of all time.

Yeah, brilliant. Many thanks, Mick! Am in the process of putting
them up on the wiki.
Also, really fascinating to see what Peel was up to back in the day.
Another thing from this period I stumbled on recently was a good part
(four out of five tracks) of a 1970 Sunday Concert with Medicine Head
(Black Sabbath were the other band on the show) - Peel links intact.
Anyone interested in this should head for the John Fiddler official

Y'know, I can't help but wonder why there are few, if any, shows from 1971-73 anywhere. Surely some were recorded, although I suppose that sound quality may be...
... There were receptioon issues as I recall ... In concert's were presented by all sorts of people ... Peel was always interested in what was 'cutting edge'...
One reason we are not seeing any of this pre-1970 stuff could be that at that time the main quality recording medium was reel-reel tapes. Although the tapes...
