Thanks for the report, Geoff. So it appears, then, that except perhaps for the
Introduction, the book was not written by Eric Blair so much as compiled by him.
I
imagine it took some doing to get all of those files from the FBI, as I have
heard
of others who were unsuccessful. It is probably an interesting read if for no
other
reason it would give some insight into the paranoia and information gathering
techniques of the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover. On the other hand, I'd hazard a
guess
that large portions of the files are blacked out for "security" reasons.
