Re: Favorite prog rock/metal album of 2004
pilgrimworld! pilgrimworld!
i guess mine would be:
[progmetal-ish]
Candiria - What Doesn't Kill You
contemporary, intelligent, loud, diverse, with bits of hardcore
[progrock-ish]
Ozric Tentacles - Spirals in Hyperspace
a few good new age/electronic type of songs, a few typical OT songs
[metal]
Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi
cool riffs, singing, and songs
[my top 5 overall]
1. Arovane - Lilies
instrumental electronic; ornate, japanese theme, transitional
2. Fly - s/t (jeff ballard, larry grenadier, mark turner)
instrumental 3 piece jazz; percussive, fluid, tribal
3. Trespassers William - Different Stars
breathy shoegazer; sweet, dreamy, melodic
4. Duran Duran - Astronaut
unadulterated pop; pop, pop, fizz, fizz
5. Esbjorn Svensson Trio - Seven Days of Falling
contemporary hybrid jazz; yet not so hybrid after all
6. Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi
